The Fantasy Alarm bells are ringing and fantasy baseball is coming to a winding close. The baseball season is one of the longest games in the fantasy landscape and it is also one of the most difficult. As the regular season winds down and teams start focusing on their playoffs you will have to head to the waiver wire in order to make a difference with your MLB lineups. Let’s look at a few difference makers that you can find on the waiver wire.
Ben Gamel, OF – Seattle Mariners
There is nothing that can help your team more than a guy who can rack up runs, hit for average, and steal a few bags. Ben Gamel is the guy you want. Gamel is a former highly touted Yankee prospect who made a name for himself in Seattle at the top of the order. Gamel racks up multi hit games as well as anyone in the league.
Rhys Hoskins, 1B – Philadelphia Phillies
Hoskins is a slugger pulled up from Triple A in order to give Philly fans something to cheer about. Hoskins is a two outcome hitter who is REALLY good at one of those outcomes — slugging home runs. Hoskins will get a ton of run as the season winds to an end. Hoskins can provide an immediate power boost to your line up.
Luis Perdomo, SP – San Diego Padres
There is something to be said for being healthy and young on a rebuilding team. Luis Perdomo will get plenty of opportunities and a long leash as the season winds to an end. He isn’t a prolific punch out pitcher but he can get enough quality starts.
Jose Urena, SP – Miami Marlins
Urena is the unquestioned stud of Miami’s line up now. He’s got a three pitch arsenal with a 96 MPH fastball. Urena is a must add down the stretch.
